Pat Burroughs

Greetings,
I wanted to let you know of my upcoming trip to Europe. I leave
tomorrow, February 2 for 16 days away from home. I will be visiting the
following places:
Budapest, Hungary February 3-5 and 14-16
Moscow, Russia February 6-11
Kandern, Germany February 12-13
Cincinnati, Ohio February 17-18 (overnight stay to see
Jonathan)
This is my first trans-Atlantic trip since September. I will be spending
most of the time in Budapest and Moscow with Daniel Tavsancea, the
young Romanian man who took my place as the Area Operations
Director. We will work on Human Resource items, do an audit on the
Bible College books in Moscow, review his personal development plan,
and the Area Operations strategic plan. During our trip to Moscow we
will get to work closely with the Russian National Director as well as the
Regional Director.
I will also join the Eastern European/Russia leadership team for it's
monthly leadership meeting (I was a part of this group during our time in
Europe). Also joining us for this meeting will be the Vice President of
Campus Crusade for Christ - Europe along with a few others from
Orlando. This should be a great time of hearing what the Lord is doing
in this part of the world, planning for the future and working out how
those of us from Orlando can help meet their needs.
The time in Kandern, Germany will be with one of my new colleagues
from Orlando who has been working on a Global Measurements
Application. To help our local teams and national leadership, this
colleague has helped developed a web-based program to allow a staff
member to record how the Lord is using him/her in their personal
ministry. I will be sitting in on this presentation to see how we can help
our Western European ministry use this program and to see how it may
be used in another project that I am working on to allow our leadership
to communicate with our staff around the world. There are a lot of
challenges facing us as we work on these projects; multiple languages,
variety of internet connections, and multiple uses for such a
communications network.
Last but not least is an opportunity to have some time with Jonathan.
Since my options for my return flight included Cincinnati, I decided to
overnight there to have some good father-son time with him.
Pray for me:
* For good health and warmth, I saw that it was 13° in Moscow
the other day (it is near 80° in Orlando today!)
* The ability to communicate well with Daniel and others with
whom I will be working with
* A good time working with the Western European team
* Safety as I travel all these miles
* For my wife who will be staying in Orlando - she will be involved
in a Global Human Resource Steering committee conference next
week.
