Hope church has many opportunities for Christian study.  These opportunities are for people of all ages.

Sunday School for youth - ages preschool through high school

There are two different book series being used for the youth.  Both of them are published by Cokesbury.

Exploring Faith

Exploring Faith is a four-year Bible study for Sunday school that enables children to experience God through Jesus Christ. Children and the adults who live and work with them will experience together, in Christian community, the stories and messages of the Bible appropriate to the children's increasing maturity through lessons that provide opportunities for discussion and ideas for activities.

Exploring Faith will help children and the adults who work with them:

       Develop a deep and life-giving relationship with God
       Respond in faith to Jesus Christ's redeeming love
       Seek and trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit
       Recognize the Holy Bible as the Word of God, the primary guide for faith and practice
       Identify themselves as children of God and grow in discipleship.

Bible Lessons for Youth

Bible Lessons for Youth is designed for youth in grades 7-12 and it covers the entire Bible in six years. Bible Lessons for Youth is based on the International Lessons Series (as is Adult Bible Studies) and it uses a Bible-to-life approach. Bible Lessons for Youth uses activities to engage student interest, focuses on how Scripture relates to their lives and prints the Scripture reading for easy access to the Bible.

Sunday School for Adults

Hope offers two different adult Sunday school classes.

Class in the Sanctuary - Adult Bible Studies

This quarterly study (thirteen lessons) presents stimulating lessons that explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. Individuals and classes studying from this series will use the International Lessons, also called the Uniform Series. Adults move from a focus on the Word to reflection on personal, family, church, and community concerns.

Class in the Social Hall

Beginning in January, the Adult Sunday school class in the Social Hall will begin a fourteen week study of the Beatitudes. This will be taught by Kit Kohudic using the text Beatitudes For Today, by James C. Howell.

Summer Sunday School

It is getting to be that time of the year, when we make plans for our summer schedule. Sunday school will continue through the summer, but we will be offering a modified intergenerational program. There will be one class downstairs for children age 2 through those going
into grade 5. For those who are going into grade 6 through age 100+, we will be offering a class in the Social Hall. Please fill out this form if you would be willing to help teach a class and turn it into the church office or give it to DeeDee DeLorenzo.
